Chandos scoops two Grammys at the 50th Awards ceremony!

Chandos is delighted to announce that it has won two Grammys at the 2008 Awards ceremony.

Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel took the Best Opera Recording, whilst Grechaninov's Passion Week sccoped the Best Engineered Classical Recording.

Ralph Couzens was present for the Awards and said after the ceremony: "For a small independent classical label to receive two awards is something else, we are very proud of the performers, engineering team and staff that have helped to make this happen...It is wonderful that our Opera in English series has won the best opera recording. This series, made in association with the Peter Moores Foundation, has always had the goal of introducing more people to opera and we have always aimed for the highest quality in terms of both artistic and technical excellence. This award is a wonderful testimony to that endeavour'. Chandos has always taken pride in its engineering, and it is gratifying, too, that Charles Bruffy's Grechaninov's CD has been honoured in this way.

Both albums are available from all good record stores, or available as downloads from itunes or emusic.
